President of India’s message on the eve of National Day of Serbia

The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Government and people of the Republic of Serbia on the eve of their National Day (February 15, 2017).

In a message to His Excellency Mr. Tomislav Nikolic, the President of the Republic of Serbia, the President has said,

“On behalf of the Government and the people of India and on my own behalf, I have pleasure in extending greetings and warm felicitations to Your Excellency and to the people of the Republic of Serbia on the occasion of your National Day.

India and Serbia enjoy deep and enduring friendly ties, including as co-founders of the Non-Aligned Movement. I am confident that our close relations will be further strengthened in the years ahead.

I would also like to take this opportunity to convey my best wishes for your good health and well-being and for the continued progress and prosperity of the friendly people of the Republic of Serbia.”

Serbia, formerly the political and cultural center of Yugoslavia, is today a landlocked country in the central part of the Balkan Peninsula in Central Southeastern Europe. The country is the northern remain of the former State Union of Serbia and Montenegro.
